The beauty of the Canary Islands
The Canary Islands offer visitors much more than sun and beach tourism. In the breathtaking volcanic landscapes, the different climatic zones that can be found in different parts of the beautifull islands and gorgeous beaches, is also another natural spectacle increasingly scarce in our day: the night sky.
While years ago it stopped being the Milky Way from the cities, it is still possible to see our own galaxy in some rural areas far from major population centers. However, the most privileged to enjoy the celestial wonders from Spain are the Fortunate Isles.
In the Canary Islands is the most important astronomical observatory in Europe: the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos, opened in 1985 on the island of La Palma.
Very specific climatic conditions of La Palma and its geographical location in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, leading to the formation of a sea of clouds lies between 1,000 and 2,000 meters. These clouds act like a real mirror and prevent light pollution of coastal populations difficult to observe the stars.
In Tenerife is IzaƱa Observatory, also known as “Observatorio del Teide”, which depends on the Canary Island Astrophysics Institute, devoted mainly to solar observation.

The Deputy Ministry of Tourism, Government of the Canary Islands, through the public company Promoter will participate in the tourism fair Holiday World to be held this Friday and until day 30 in the Irish city of Dublin.
As part of this event will promote tourism Canary archipelago. The exhibition space will cover sixty square meters and will reflect the tourism in the islands with the various proposals to attract the Irish Travelers to the Canary Islands. Holiday World is tourism fair in general offer open to the public. The event brought in last edition of 2010 to 50,900 visitors, 1,900 professionals and 670 exhibitors.
