How Rias Baixas model tourism destination
Rios Bias has become one of the ten most visited tourist destinations in Spain during 2010, according to recent data published by the National Statistics Institute
In total, over 3,114,000 overnight stays for 1,167,000 visitors a year. The president of Truism Rios Bias, Manuel José Figueroa, “the figures confirm the promotional work undertaken by the Board during those years to consolidate a quality destination with a wide range.”
Provincial vice-president was speaking at a press conference evaluation of activities carried out in Fitter and which took advantage of the opportunity to present the latest data from the Observatory Rios Bias. With respect to the International Tourism Fair, Figueroa noted that “visited the stand over 40,000 professionals and the general public.”
As part of the show is presented which will be the main future action to increase the visits involving the empowerment of local tourism, the implementation of new technologies and the Internet, launching the so-called tourism accessibility for people with disabilities.
Among the data released José Manuel Figueroa highlight the increase in visitors with respect to 2009 and, although data are not closed and that the occupancy rate for the bridge in December, the figure could be increased until the one 3 million visitors.
